Diane Winter, LPC, NCC

Diane Winter, LPC, NCC

Diane is an easygoing, creative soul who appreciates the beauty in everyday experiences. She is particularly grateful for the connection she shares in both her personal and professional relationships. Treating all beings fairly is one of Diane’s abiding principles. She thrives on visualizing future possibilities and encourages others to strive to reach their full potential.

With patience and sensitivity, Diane listens attentively to each of her clients’ stories. Her keen sense of perception and intuitive nature allows her to get right to the heart of any issue. In an effort to promote self-awareness (the foundation of change), she shares the resulting insights with her clients from a position of objectivity and with supportive intent. It is in these revealing moments that her clients begin to see other possibilities for themselves, other ways to get their needs met, ones that are both more effective and more satisfying. The energy in the room is palpable as she sits with her clients during these discoveries and in their newfound hope.

After Diane masterfully facilitates deep understanding and establishes collaboratively-defined goals with her clients, she begins the skill-building process. Diane utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness approaches to guide her clients toward lasting behavior change. She has found that Dialectical Behavior Therapy exercises offer clear, concrete guidelines for identification of feelings and moods and strategies for emotion regulation, all of which have been identified in the research on Emotional Intelligence as imperative competencies for success. It is through the determined use of these and other resources that Diane leads her clients to make the small changes which, with careful recognition and celebration, empower her clients’ to continue forging ahead toward long-term change they desire.

You can easily understand why Diane’s clients keep coming back for doses of her wisdom. They simply appreciate her ability to look at the world in a way that just makes sense. They value her capacity to see through complex situations to their core hopes, dreams, and desires, and perhaps most significantly, to cleverly translate those into imaginative solutions for a better life.
