Following a Bachelor’s program in Human Development and Family Studies from Penn State University, Julie went on to earn an MA and PsyD in Clinical Psychology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Her intense training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy has provided her the opportunity to work with many populations and problems. Specifically, Dr. Bowden has found her work with female adolescents and young adults struggling with anxiety and/or depression to be particularly rewarding. In addition to her ability to connect with this population and provide a safe place for them to explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, she teaches them the critical skills of stress management, assertiveness and problem-solving.
Dr. Bowden’s other passion is working with families in a variety of contexts. She finds it extremely gratifying to help parents manage their child’s diagnosis through offering psycho-education and support. Additionally, her skills and experience in working with newer mothers and those experiencing post-partum depression stems from her interest in the unique intricacies of family dynamics and developmental struggles and tasks.

“My sessions helped me feel very comforted and successfully started my process of learning to control my anxiety.”
“I came to Dr. Julie because my son needed some help coping at school. We ended our treatment in September and still use the coping skills and refer frequently back to skills that we learned during our time with Julie. I would highly recommend Dr. Julie and Relationship Resolutions to friends or family that are in need of counseling.”
“I cannot say enough great things about Julie! She has helped me in more ways than one! I really don't know where I would be without her. I have referred more than one friend to her and I will continue to.”
