“You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated. In fact, it may be necessary to encounter the defeats, so you can know who you are, what you can rise from, how you can still come out of it.” — Maya Angelou

Many tend to focus on the negative when things go wrong in the past or presently, but forget there is always time to make a change towards the future. Life is full of many lessons, with various choices that we make, creating an effect on oneself, our families/relationships, and environments we encounter. I am a board certified therapist, providing therapy for over 5 years, specializing in behavioral and therapeutic settings, working with individual, family, and couples therapy, treating ages 6 through 60 years of age. Throughout my time, I have assisted individuals in making the change and healing they need to continue for positive progress in their lives. The initial meeting we have will decide if we can form a therapeutic relationship through intake paperwork and evaluations that will help you on the therapeutic journey we will encounter.

My main focus has been in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) approaches. Though, I have also worked with different therapy dynamics, such as Reality Therapy, Motivational Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy (CCT), and Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT). Whichever approach we agree would work best for your growth, we will work slow-paced, but yet allow for challenging and reflection of breaking negative patterns.

I tend to choose a transparent, but empathetic nature within my therapy. I want us to welcome each other with trust, respect, and commitment to your journey. When we meet for sessions, it becomes a safe zone for difficult conversations and barriers that will be addressed. I always welcome check in’s, input, and feedback on how you believe the service is going throughout our time to keep the relationship positive, but to also continue achieving goals, to implement the skills and techniques yourself, to increase happiness, growth, and forgiveness.
